The ATLAS Experiment

With the ATLAS Experiment we study proton proton reactions at energies of 14 TeV. In this way we can explore a completely new energy range which offers the possibilities for new discoveries.

The experiment is being constructed at the moment. We expect to start data taking in the summer 2007. Our group provides important contributions to the construction of the muon system in ATLAS. Our most important contributions are construction of MDT chambers, production and 3D measurement of precise alignment bars, development of on chamber gas connections and Faraday cages for MDT chambers, study of radiation damage and chamber ageing and physics studies for particle reactions at the LHC.
