Experimental Particle Physics

The research field of the group is in the area of experimental particle physics. The aim of our work is to explore new physics in high energy reactions of elementary particles. Using accelerators, like the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) at CERN we want to discover new forces or new types of matter.

Together with new measurements in astrophysics there is great hope to uncover in the coming years the physical processes right after the big bang and to gain a better understanding of the nature of the dark matter and energy in the universe. This type of research is only possible in a strong and stimulating international collaboration of many researchers.
